this operation, i want to be clear, the united states of america has done what we said we would do. >> the president also pointed to what he sees as especially fast action, compared the month it took to get to this point, to the year it took to stop the atrocities in bosnia. many thought he should have acted faster, among them, john mccain who spoke with wolf blitzer after the president's address. >> he laid out the reasons why it was important to intervene and what would have happened in benghazi. and many of us are convinced if we had taken that action three weeks earlier, just declaing a no-fly zone, it would have had a similar effect. >> it's clear we're acting on the side of the rebels, and that we can, by keeping up the sustained pressure and movement, that gadhafi can be removed. if we tell gadhafi, don't worry, you're not going to be removed by force, i think that that's very encouraging to gadhafi. and so i believe that the rebels, as i predicted are succeeding because we negated the air power and the armor capabilities of gadhafi, and we're rapidly on the road to success.

waushed to attack. gadhafi said it was america first, now bin laden. what drugs are being used, specifically what hallucinatory pills? >> actually, the leader did not specifically accuse the united states of america. he really said that al qaeda, very highly trained individuals who now look more secular than the dwellers of the caves in afghanistan. >> i'm asking you what pills, what hallucinatory pills? >> we did indeed capture young people using these pills -- >> what pills? are you talking about meth amphetamine, ecstasy, lsd, what are you talking about? a few hours after that interview, the big drug bust by libyan authorities and the drug they claim being used is tramadol. the problem is tramadol is not a hallucinagenic drug. it's a painkiller used in hospitals. the two most common side effects are drowsiness and constipation. if this is what the libyan government was hoping would make its case, they need to find a new prescription. last night when i continued to press him, here's what he said. >> i'm not an expert. we are really now dealing with the matter from all sides.

tonight is a big cold front has worked through and these are just like cold fronts that we have in america. the wind has shifted completely offshore, taking all of that radiation with it. i know some radiation spreads out in all directions, but the main stuff we're worried about for safety of people's health will be carried by the wind. and that wind is shifting offshore. i have a couple things to show you here that happened just over the past couple of hours. we've run a model here at cnn. it's not a radiation model. but if you took a balloon and let it go, you see where would this balloon fly over the next few days. all those models, no matter what level you release that noon, 100 feet, 200 feet, 500 feet, it would all blow offshore, away from the land and away from the people. that's not going to be the case by saturday. this all will change again when a low pressure will bring more winds from the east and from the southeast, this entire pattern will change and weather patterns change all the time. this is not a big breaking news event that we're going to have the weather patterns chang
